Mutant rat

Giant mutant rat invasion!

RatHorrifying stories of ‘giant mutant rats’ the size of cats have been making the headlines recently. These big beasties have been spotted in towns and cities all over the country. Combined with the fact that rat populations are also on the increase, many fear we’ll soon be over-run with super rats.

It is widely believed that the huge growth in both rat numbers and their size is due to a plentiful supply of food left-overs in towns and cities. This has created a problem that is no longer confined to more rural areas. Sightings of 2ft-long rats have been reported in homes, offices and even schools.

So how can I prevent a rat infestation?

The first step to take is to dispose of rubbish carefully, especially food waste. Don’t leave unwanted food lying around and ensure vacant premises are properly protected.

If you are business, a rat problem could be financially devastating. Therefore, a regular system of prevention should be put in place. If an infestation does occur, action can be quickly taken to eradicate the problem. Not only will this take care of your customers, stock and premises, it will also ensure you are complying with the laws and regulations that govern the control and eradication of pest-borne contamination. This includes diseases such as Weils Disease and Salmonellosis.

Protect yourself and your business with a regular pest control contract

Don’t take matters into your own hands if you have a rat problem. Authorities fear people will buy dodgy snare traps online if they see a giant rat. Not only are these barbaric traps illegal but can cause terrible injuries if a pet or child accidentally steps on one.

If you want to avoid a rat infestation, call in the professionals. At Bailey Pest Control, we’ll carry out an initial, free, site survey to determine your vermin-control requirements.
